First Time User to Online Banking

If you have not established your access ID complete the First Time User enrollment step below. If you have been online previously skip first time user and continue with enrollment into Multifactor Authentication.

First Time User Enrollment

To enroll into online banking for the first time, follow these steps.

  • Click on First Time User.
  • Read the online user agreement. If you agree to the terms Click ACCEPT.
  • Complete the First Time user data information.
    • Provide a current email address.
    • Provide your mothers maiden name.
    • Provide your account number.
    • Select whether the account number is a checking or savings account type.
    • If you user our 24-Hour Phone Banking enter the four digit PIN. If you do not use Phone Banking enter the last four digits of your social security number.
  • Click SUBMIT. Please continue with instructions below on how to establish your Access ID and Password.

Establish Access ID and Password

Personalize your access identification and password.

  • Provide a new Access ID. Your Access ID needs to be at least 6 characters and is case sensitive
  • Provide a Password. Your new password needs to be at least 8 characters in length and include both numbers & letters and is case sensitive.
  • Confirm the Password you entered
  • Click SUBMIT.

Enroll into MFA

To enroll into MFA, follow these steps:

  • Log in by entering your current Access ID. Click LOG IN.
  • Enter your current password. Click SUBMIT.
  • Complete the Set Security Data information.
    • Provide a current email address.
    • You will be provided with an Authentication Image. Enter a Pass Phrase for the selected Authentication Image. Your Pass Phrase can be any word or phrase, 6-30 characters, which should have some personal meaning to the Authentication Image. Your Pass Phrase must be different from your Online Banking password. This image can be changed once enrolled.
    • Provide answers for 3 Challenge Questions.
    • Select whether you are logging in with your personal computer, or a public computer. Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use.
  • Click SUBMIT.

That's it. The next time you log in, MFA will recognize you and display your Authentication Image & Pass Phrase. We recommend that once you are enrolled and logged in to Online Banking, you select a more personalized Authentication Image and Pass Phrase.

Log in with MFA

Once you have enrolled into MFA, follow these steps to log in.

  • Log in using your current Access ID. Click SUBMIT.
  • If it is a registered computer, go to Step 3. If you are using a computer the system does not recognize, you must complete a Security Challenge. Please select one of the two options:
    • Select Option 1 "Email One-Time Passcode": check your email inbox and copy the one-time passcode to the input text field. Select whether you are logging in with your personal computer, or a public computer. Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use. Click SUBMIT.
    • Select Option 2 "Answer Challenge Question": you must answer your Security Challenge question correctly in order to proceed to log in. Type your answer in the input box and select whether you are logging in with your personal computer, or a public computer. Only register personal computers that you frequently use and are not available for public use. Click SUBMIT. Note: You have a total of three (3) chances to answer your Security Challenge question correctly before you are locked out. If you are locked out, contact Security State Bank at 218-927-3765 for assistance.
  • Your Authentication Image & Pass Phrase are displayed.
  • If your Authentication Image and Pass Phrase are correct, then enter your password. If the Authentication Image and Pass Phrase do not match, do not enter your password. Contact Security State Bank at 218.927.3765 for assistance. Click SUBMIT.
    • That's it. You are now securely logged in to Online Banking.

      Change your Authentication Image & Pass Phrase

      We offer over 10,000 images for you to choose from. To select the one that's right for you, just follow these steps.

      • Log in to Online Banking.
      • Select OPTIONS from the main menu.
      • Select EDIT under Security Data.
      • Click CHANGE IMAGE hyperlink under the Authentication Image.
      • Select an image from the library by clicking on the image itself.
      • Enter a Pass Phrase for the image.
      • Click SUBMIT.

      That's it. The next time you log in, your new Authentication Image and Pass Phrase will be displayed.
